COLUMBUS, OH -- U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today issued the following statements regarding John McCain's speech at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he accepted the party's presidential nomination and outlined his vision to bring reform, prosperity and peace to America.

Former Congressman Rob Portman: "Tonight, Americans were able to hear directly from John McCain about his record of leadership and reform, and his commitment to put country first in getting our economy back on track and leading us to energy independence."

U.S. Representative Pat Tiberi: "John McCain put Washington on notice tonight that change is coming. Throughout his career, John McCain has consistently reached across the aisle to bring both parties together to solve problems and confront tough challenges. Now more than ever, that is exactly the record of leadership we need in our next president."
